The Kingdom Hearts team participated in the development of the Final Fantasy XVI combat system
The producer of the Final Fantasy XVI Naoki Yoshid this week gave several interviews at once, sharing the details about the upcoming promising RPG from Square Enix. We already know that there will be no open world in the game, and the new trailer will appear only in the fall. In addition to this, Yoshida shared some details about the development of the combat system.
In an interview with The Washington Post, the producer said that Kingdom Hearts participated in the development of this important game element.
Yoshida also mentioned the enormous influence of the director of the combat system Reta Suzuki, who previously worked in Capcom on projects such as Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma. According to him, thanks to the leadership of such a specialist, the problems of the previous franchise games were eliminated-animation of battles, smoothness of the battle and a fuzzy game interface.
In addition, the producer mentioned the plot of a future game that would not be a happy fairy tale, and said that the setting would be much darker than in the previous parts of the franchise.
The release of Final Fantasy XVI will take place in the summer of 2023 at the PlayStation 5.
